Funeral Planning

Dealing with the pain of losing a loved one is a difficult thing, but the Catholic funeral liturgy and traditions offer great comfort when confronting the death of a loved one. In the Catholic funeral, not only is comfort offered to those in mourning, but also, prayers are offered for the deceased. “Though separated from the living, the dead are still at one with the community of believers on earth and benefit from their prayers and intercessions.” (Order of Christian Funerals, no. 6)

Once all the arrangements have been made with a funeral home and cemetery, a member of the Parish staff will call the contact person to set up a meeting to help plan the Funeral Mass for your loved one.

We understand that this is a difficult time and that trying to make all the necessary arrangements can seem very confusing and overwhelming.  If for any reason you need assistance, please call the Parish Office as we are happy to help in any way that we can: 401-461-7172.

This Planning Guide will help with the selection of Scriptural Readings, Music and illustrate the policies regarding the Funeral Mass.
